
South Asia Network Television, Kathmandu, October 11: The post-mortem report of veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar has reportedly been received. The report provides details about the cause of his death. He reportedly died on October 8. A team of doctors from Goa Medical College in Bambolim submitted the report to the hospital administration on the same day.
What Does the Report Say?
According to the report, Nana Patekar died of a heart attack. A blood clot had formed in one of his coronary arteries, obstructing blood flow through the blood vessel supplying the heart. The report states that this blockage caused his death.
According to the police report, Nana had sent a message to a friend shortly before his death, saying that he was experiencing unbearable pain. The friend later went to check on his condition.
He Lost Consciousness in the Ambulance
On the morning of October 8, at around 5:30 a.m., the Panaji police station was informed that Nana Patekar had been brought to Manipal Hospital in Dona Paula in a deceased state. The police subsequently registered a case.
His body was then taken to Goa Medical College Hospital in Bambolim. An examination was conducted in the presence of witnesses and his nephew, Prasad Patekar. After seeing his father's body, his son, Malhar, gave consent for a post-mortem examination.
A medical team comprising three senior doctors conducted the post-mortem. The team subsequently submitted the report to the medical college authorities, clarifying the cause of death.
According to information that emerged during the police investigation, Nana had sent a WhatsApp message to a family friend, Ame Naik, at around 2:30 a.m., saying that he was feeling unwell. However, the message reportedly received no response at the time.
Later, Nana's caregiver called Naik to inform him about Nana's health condition. Naik reportedly said that he saw the message at around 3:30 a.m. and immediately went to Nana's residence in Dona Paula.
Upon arriving, he found Nana fully dressed and sitting on a sofa.
An ambulance was then called. Shortly after being placed in the ambulance, Nana lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital at around 4:30 a.m., but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The family informed the police that they had no suspicions regarding any suspicious circumstances or foul play in his death.
