SATV, Kathmandu, October 3 - Mao Tse Gurung’s film ‘Pension Patta’ has entered its fourth week of theatrical release from Friday. According to the producers, the film has grossed Rs 85 million so far.

To mark its entry into the fourth week, the film organized a ‘Meet and Greet’ event. During the event, the producer and cast members spoke with journalists about the film’s success, audience response and their experiences during its production.

Director, actor and producer Gurung said the success of ‘Pension Patta’ had demonstrated the hard work put into the film. He said the team was encouraged by the love and support received from audiences for a film made with considerable effort and dedication.

Gurung said continuing to receive audience support even in the fourth week was a significant achievement for the film.

During the event, actor Dayahang Rai was asked whether an actor’s stardom or a strong story is more important for a film’s success. Rai said the story is ultimately more important than stardom.

According to Rai, a strong story is also what turns an actor into a star. “Since the story is what makes an actor a star, ultimately the story is stronger. When the story is strong, the film works. Stardom only provides some support to a film,” he said.

Rai also said that alongside an actor’s popularity, the story and presentation of a film play an important role in bringing audiences to theaters.

‘Pension Patta’ was scheduled for theatrical release from Bhadra 26.
