SATV Kathmandu Sept 22: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has proposed the appointment of five new ministers, with the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, according to sources familiar with the decision.
Former Supreme Court Justice Anil Kumar Sinha is set to take charge of two key portfolios-Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and Industry, Commerce and Supplies, along with Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.
Dr. Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra, who recently resigned as Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population, has been recommended to head the same ministry.
Noted social entrepreneur Mahabir Pun, chairman of the National Innovation Center, will be appointed Minister of Education, Science and Technology. Veteran journalist Jagdish Kharel, currently news editor at Image Media Group, is slated to become Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
Similarly, Madan Pariyar has been recommended as Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development. The formal oath of office for all five nominees is expected to take place at the President's Office on Monday.
