Kathmandu, Sep 20: Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality has decided to take action to the closing of schools in the name of teachers' movement.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the proposed school education bill, government teachers have announced school closures since Thursday. However, the Metropolitan Municipality has decided that it will be unacceptable if the school is closed.
For that, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has instructed the Education Department to take necessary action after monitoring. Metropolitan press coordinator Surendra Bajgai said that action will be taken if the school is closed due to teachers' protest.
“It is the right of teachers to protest. However, schools are not closed in the name of protest. The metropolis has instructed the education department to take action if the school is closed”, he said.
