SATV Kathmandu Sept 26: Addressing CIB Chief Additional Inspector General (AIG) Dr. Manoj KC, Minister Aryal assured him that the problems he may have faced in the past due to political pressure would no longer recur. “What you faced in the past will no longer happen. The mandate of this government is good governance. Without good governance, peace and security cannot be ensured. Please work accordingly,” Aryal said.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandrakuber Khapung was also present during the visit.
The minister further stressed that investigative bodies must demonstrate professionalism and move cases forward without fear. “If there are certain matters that should not have been stalled but remain pending, they must be advanced. If new matters require investigation, those too should be initiated,” Aryal added.
Notably, Dr. KC had previously led the investigation into the fake Bhutanese refugee scam while serving as an SSP at the same office. He was later transferred to the Provincial Coordination Department, a police unit not primarily engaged in investigative work like the CIB.
