SATV Kathmandu Sept 13: President Ram Chandra Paudel has dissolved the House of Representatives on the recommendation of newly-appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

Prime Minister Karki recommended the dissolution of the House of Representatives immediately after taking the oath on Friday night.

The President's Office issued a press release stating that the House of Representatives has been dissolved effective from 11 p.m. on Friday.

President Paudel has also announced new elections for the House of Representatives on March 5, 2026.

Karki was appointed as the head of an interim government with the mandate to hold elections within six months.
