SATV Kathmandu Oct 09: The price of fine gold in the domestic market reached a new historic high of Rs 238,000 per tola on Wednesday after rising by Rs 2,600 from the previous day.

Gold prices have been on an upward trajectory since trading resumed after the Dashain holidays, marking a total increase of Rs 14,800 per tola since Sunday, Bhadra 19.

On Tuesday, the yellow metal was traded at Rs 235,400 per tola, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.

Meanwhile, silver prices edged down by Rs 5 per tola to Rs 2,955 per tola, compared to Tuesday's rate of Rs 2,960 per tola.
