SATV, Kathmandu, October. 16- Nepal Rastra Bank has increased the daily limit on the number of deposits allowed into digital wallets ahead of the Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals. Under the revised provision, individuals will be able to deposit money into their digital wallets up to 50 times a day during the designated periods.
The central bank introduced the change by amending its Unified Directives on the Payment System. Previously, individuals were permitted to deposit money into their digital wallets a maximum of 10 times per day.
According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the revised provision will remain in effect from October 17 to October 25 and from November 7 to November 15.
The measure aims to encourage greater use of digital payment services during the festive season, particularly for transactions involving Dakshina—money traditionally given to family members, relatives and others as a festive blessing.
The central bank had previously urged the public to use digital payment platforms when giving Dakshina during Dashain, Tihar and Chhath.
