SATV, Kathmandu, Aug. 15 - Special worship is held at Badimalika, a famous religious pilgrimage site located in Bajura district, on the eve of Janai Purnima every year.

A team of government officials, carrying necessary worship materials, left for Badimalika on Thursday.

After performing special worship at the District Administration Office, Doti, Chief District Officer Kalpana Ghimire Nepal saw the team off. The team also performed worship at the famous Shaileshwari Temple and the local Malika Temple before departing for Badimalika.

Since the Rana period, it has been a tradition to travel to Badimalika from Doti. A team from the District Administration Office, Doti, carrying worship materials, will reach Badimalika in 15 days.

The team will stay at Phulot in Ward No. 1 of Purbichauki Rural Municipality on the first day and at Dhanukanda in Ward No. 5 of the same municipality on the second day. Similarly, on the third day, the team will reach Badimalika on foot via Marku in Achham and the famous religious site of Baidyanath.

The puja materials include Bhurudi from Dipayal, Doti, a flower garland made from rice leaves during the planting season, and Akshata from Baidyanath.

During the departure, a contingent of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force gave a ceremonial salute at the District Administration Office, Shaileshwari Temple and the local Malika Temple.
