SATV 2 July, Kathmandu: Nepal has been ranked seventh in the list of top solo adventure travel destinations for 2025. The list was published by UK-based adventure travel company Much Better Adventures.
The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has recently been promoting Nepal’s adventure, natural beauty, and cultural richness to the world. Its focus on responsible tourism, use of local guides, easy accessibility, and community-based travel has made Nepal a safe, reliable, and attractive destination for solo travelers.
Nepal was highly rated for its stunning landscapes, rich culture, budget-friendly services, and a wide range of adventure activities. The list highlights treks like Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit, as well as jungle safaris in Chitwan National Park, as favorites among solo travelers seeking peace and adventure.
NTB has also been working to improve solo travel experiences by offering better travel information, encouraging safe travel with local guides, and promoting a balance of nature, culture, and adventure. The board’s responsible tourism policy emphasizes community participation and conservation, especially in Himalayan areas, national parks, and heritage sites.
Since travel in Nepal is generally low-cost, it’s also considered a budget-friendly destination. The report says visitors can enjoy affordable stays, good-value travel packages, and rich cultural and natural experiences.
Sam Bruce, co-founder of Much Better Adventures, said the list was made based on expert input and customer experiences, focusing on safety, sustainability, accessibility, and popularity. He added, “Nepal offers solo travelers amazing nature, deep spirituality, and warm hospitality – whether in the busy alleys of Kathmandu or the peaceful Himalayan trails.”
Kirsty Holmes, the company’s content manager, recently traveled solo in Nepal. She wrote, “While hiking in Annapurna and exploring Chitwan, I felt completely at home.”
In the top 10 destinations, Italy is ranked first, followed by Japan, Norway, Spain, Albania, Portugal, Nepal, Montenegro, Jordan, and Greece.
The NTB Chief Executive Officer Deepak Raj Joshi said the NTB will use this global recognition as a chance to promote Nepal more strategically and improve travel experiences further.
