Dhaka's entertainment spots were bustling with people on Tuesday, the second day of Eid-ul-Azha.

While many people were in their hometowns to celebrate Eid with their families, the capital experienced lighter traffic than usual, giving its residents the opportunity to visit parks, museums and cinemas.

Jiaur Rahman, who teaches at Milestone College, brought his two children to visit Ramna Park for the first time.

“Since I am from Uttara, my children have only visited the nearby spots,” said Jiaur, who travelled there by metro rail, which has a station nearby in Shahbag.

Meanwhile, Babul Hosen, an Ansar member stationed at the park, said the number of visitors was less compared to previous years.

Children also enjoyed the playground at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novotheatre on Bijay Sarani.

Tareq Hossain, who travelled from Narayanganj with his family to visit the place, said his children were having a great time.

By the afternoon, the Bangabandhu Military Museum had welcomed 7,000 visitors, according to a ticket seller.

People also flocked to watch movies, with Multiplex franchise Star Cineplex showing four Bangla movies this Eid: “Toofan,” “Agontuk,” “Revenge” and “Dark World.”

The leads of “Agontuk,” Shamol Mawla and Puja Cherry, attended a screening of their movie at Star Cineplex, Bashundhara City, in the evening.

Puja expressed her satisfaction with the audience reception, saying: “If we receive this much audience, Bangla cinema will move forward.”

Other popular destinations including Dhanmondi Lake and Hatirjheel also attracted numerous visitors during Eid.
