Elpitiya, Dec 16 - Public Security Minister Tiran Alles said that a special operation targeting drug-related activities and the underworld is set to commence tomorrow.

Minister Alles has directed Police to take stringent measures against individuals engaged in drug smuggling and underworld operations.

The Minister made these directives during a community police committee meeting in the Elpitiya Division held this morning.

A group of senior officers, including Acting Inspector General of Police Deshabandu Tennakoon attended the meeting.

Minister Alles urged the public to actively support the police force in their efforts to combat drug-related crimes and underworld activities. 

"I have given the police until June 30 only. By June 30, there should be a complete change in the drug and underworld activities in this country," he said.
