In an exciting Premier League match on Wednesday, West Ham surprised everyone by upsetting Tottenham 2-1. Spurs' recent losing streak extends to their fourth game in five outings.

Cristian Romero gave Spurs the lead early in a tense game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, building on Spurs' early control. But as tenacious as ever, Jarrod Bowen and James Ward-Prowse's goals in the second half gave West Ham the advantage.

Spurs commanded nearly 90% possession early on, showcasing their authority. Romero's header off a corner gave them a deserved lead in the 11th minute. Despite their numerous chances, including efforts from Dejan Kulusevski and Giovani Lo Celso, Spurs couldn't convert their overwhelming superiority into more goals.

The second half, however, belonged to West Ham. Bowen's seventh consecutive away league goal brought them level, and a defensive mishap allowed Ward-Prowse to secure the win. This loss means Spurs have struggled to convert leads into victories in their last five games.

Spurs captain Son Heung-min expressed frustration, calling for a more ruthless approach from his team. He highlighted the importance of securing a lead, emphasizing the Premier League's unpredictability.

This defeat leaves Spurs in fifth place, trailing three points behind the top four, while West Ham sits in the ninth spot.
