The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) interrupted a religious event taking place at Doban in Shankhamul on Tuesday.
Metropolitan police reached Shankhamul based on the information that a religious festival was celebrated in a public place without permission.
Dinesh Aryal, from the city police, stated that the organizers were directed to stop the event after the police received a complaint. As the religious program was being held without permission. After the arrival of the city police, the religious festival was halted for few hours.
The organisers, however, were adamant to continue the festival by seeking permission from the local ward office. After the ward gave organizers the permission, the city police returned.
