Rastriya Samachar Samiti(RSS) organised "Our culture: Our Heritage", a photo exhibition today（Thursday) on the occasion of Republic Day celebration 2080 B.S. which was inaugurated by Rekha Sharma, Minister of Communication and Information Technology Nepal by cutting a red ribbon.

The exhibition will continue until 31st May, 7 days from today. It is the first exhibition exhibited on the occasion of Republic Day to exuberantly celebrate and honour the day. 77 photos from all seven provinces and Kathmandu Valley are included in the exhibition.

Rekha Sharma, Minister of Communication and Information Technology Nepal said, "If a person becomes corrupt, it is the person's fault, not the republic's. If there was no republic, we would not have been able to bring out the mistakes made by our rulers. The alternative to democracy cannot be retrogression". She concludes that, "the solution to the problems of democracy exists only within democracy".

RSS's General Manager, Shiddha Raj Rai throwing some light in the agency's establishment explained, "after the establishment of the democratic republic, the meeting on 25th of Falgun 2074 decided and implemented the issue of moving the RSS to a federal structure and keeping federal offices. The work of making a mini museum on the ground floor of the office by keeping the old documents and pictures, news and materials of RSS has been progressed. There is a plan to make news and administration IT friendly".

President of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Bipul Pokhrel, said that the republic is connected with the respect of all, coexistence and process. He remarked that the tendency to point out the weaknesses of some leaders or characters is wrong.

"We decided that on every Republic Day, we will have a photo exhibition that reflects the Republic. I don't know how successful it will be, but it has been started. We want to find the country in the picture. Numerically, there may be more or less photos of a place, but we have tried to cover Nepal as much as possible", says Dharmendra Jha, Chairman of RSS.
Nepal Samvad Samiti (NSS) established on Poush 1, 2016 BS and Sagarmatha Sambad Samiti (SSS) established on Baisakh 30, 2017 were merged in 2018, Falgun 8 to form The National News Agency (RSS).
