POKHARA, March 17: The Kaligandaki Corridor (Beni-Jomsom-Korala) road will be closed for five hours a day from Friday.
The Beni-Jomsom road is going to be closed to prevent landslides in the Rupse section of the road project including Beilibridge.
The District Administration Office, Myagdi, said that the road will be closed from Friday. Assistant Chief District Officer Dhirendraraj Pant said that the road will be closed from 6 to 9 in the morning and from 1 to 3 in the afternoon from March 17 to 28.
Pant said that the road will not be closed for three days from March 20 to 22 to facilitate the pilgrims who take bath in Kagbeni in Mustang on the occasion of Chaite Dashain. He said that emergency vehicles like fire engines and ambulances will be allowed to operate through the road even during the period of road closure.
The local administration has also decided to close the road section from Bimal Nagar to Ghasi Kuwa in Tanahun along the Prithvi Highway.
