SATV, Lumbini, March 20 — The opening ceremony of the 3rd Lumbini International Peace Festival and Lumbini International Meditation Day was held in Lumbini, bringing together distinguished guests, monks, international delegates, and participants from across the world to promote peace and inner harmony.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Anil Kumar Sinha, emphasized the global relevance of Lord Buddha’s teachings. He stated that Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, is not only a historical site but a sacred symbol of peace and compassion. Highlighting current global challenges, he noted that Buddha’s message of tolerance and understanding is essential for humanity’s collective future.

Addressing the program, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Nepal, Zhang Maoming, highlighted the importance of meditation in today’s uncertain world. He said that peace is not only a shared aspiration but the foundation of civilization. Emphasizing the deep cultural and spiritual ties between Nepal and China, he noted that both nations share common values of harmony, compassion, and mutual respect.

The meditation session was attended by monks, nuns, officials, and visitors who participated in prayers and mindfulness practices in the serene environment of Lumbini. The program aimed to inspire inner peace and promote unity among people from diverse backgrounds.

The event successfully conveyed the message that true peace begins within individuals and can spread across the world through collective awareness and action. The meditation program concluded with prayers for global peace, harmony, and prosperity.
