SATV 03 July, Kathmandu: Nepal entered in final of the ACC Men's U16 East Zone Cup 2025, defeating Malaysia by 9 wickets on Thursday at Selangor Turf Club, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Batting first, Malaysia scored 90 runs before being all out in 43.1 overs.
Malaysia's Muhammad Fathul Muin and Deeaz Patro scored 38 and 10 runs respectively whereas other Malaysian's batsmen failed to score runs in double digits.
To wrap Malaysia in just 90 runs, Nepali bowler Abhay Yadav took 4 wickets alone, whereas Shubham Khanal took 3 wickets. Similarly, Bipin Prasad Sharma and Sachin Bhatta took a single wicket each.
In response, Nepal achieved the target of 91 runs, scoring 92 runs in just 11.4 overs with the loss of a single wicket. Nepali batsman Parimarjan Yadav hit a half-century while chasing the target. Yadav scored 59 runs, Shiwansh Bajgain scored 23, and Prashiddha Jaishi hit 2 runs.
Malaysian bowler Nagineswaran Sathnakumaran took a single wicket.
