Nepal’s goal for playing the World Qualifiers ends with its defeat in the semi-finals of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers match against Thailand on Friday.
Chasing the target of 106 runs given by Thailand, Nepal was bowled out at 59 runs in 19.3 overs.
Nepal's Kavita Kunwar scored 17 runs. Kavita Joshi and Apsari Begum added 10 runs each. Other Nepalese players could not score runs in double figures. Nannapat added 59 not out for Nepal. Nepal's Kavita Kunwar and Pooja Mahato took one wicket each in bowling.
Before that, Thailand, who lost the toss and batted first, scored 105 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. In bowling, Thailand's Onicha and Thipaccha took 3 wickets each.
In another match today, UAE defeated Hong Kong by 57 runs to reach the final. Saturday will be a match between UAE and Thailand for the title of the tournament. Both these teams have reached the Global T20 Qualifiers.
