Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP) declared one candidate each from Trashigang and Punakha yesterday.
The party declared Tashi Tenzin from Radhi_Sagteng constituency in Trashigang.
The 39-year-old has a Master of Geoscience from the University of Western Australia and Bachelor of Science in Geology from Osmania University in India.
Before joining BTP, Tashi Tenzin served as the Chief Geologist with the Department of Geology and Mines, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, where he also served as Officiating Director General briefly.
He has 15 years of experience in civil service. He is from Lem, Phongmey Gewog and a father of two.
The other candidate is Tshering Dorji from Kabisa_Talog constituency in Punakha.
The 61-year-old has a master’s degree from the USA and bachelor’s degree from Delhi.
He served the country for over 32 years in diverse fields including civil service, corporate bodies, local government, as a diplomat, private sector, and a politician.
He last served as the foreign secretary before exiting the civil service in 2017 and joining politics in 2018. He was the former candidate of People’s Democratic Party from the constituency.
He is from Siluna, Toep Gewog in Punakha and is married with three children.
The party has declared 27 candidates so far.
