YetiAirlines ATR 72 flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara encountered a deadly crash at10:50 PM in Gharepatan on the bank of Seti River before landing at PokharaInternational Airport, Nepal. This flight carried 72 passangers.
The ATR72-500 with registration 9N-ANC operated by Nepal'sYeti Airlines carried 68 passangers with four crew members led by Kamal Kc,Anju Khatiwada, Srijana Hongachun and Oshin Aaley Magar . 37 were men, 25 werewomen, three were children and three were infants according to the information of aviation authority. 32dead bodies are now in Gandaki Hospital. Authorities said 53 of the passangersand all four crew members were Nepali. Among the rest of fifteen foreignpassangers, five were Indian, four were Russian and two were Korean and onepassanger each from Australia, Ireland, France and Argentina.
Nepal Army, rescue and fire fighting team and various policedepartments have been deployed to the crash site. Helicopter 9NALX, 9NALA weredeployed for rescue from Pokhara. More than 40 dead bodies have already beenrescued and the rescue is on process. Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahalsaid he was " deeply saddened by the sad and tragic accident". The plan had made three flights since thismorning which is 7 in the morning , from Kathmandu to Pokhara, 5:45 PM fromPokhara to Kathmandu and again form Kathmandu to Pokhara at 10:32 Pm. In thisway, it carried three flights in three and half hours continuously but is not sureof it being examined in between.
