Tanahun, Jan 8 : Despite living in the United States of America, popular folk singer Prem Raja Mahat has been continuously providing new songs for Nepali people.
Born in Dhorphirdi, a village in Ward No. 8 of Shuklagandaki Municipality, Mahat has made public a new music video under the title “Dhunge Dharaiko” as the second edition of “Bandipuraima”.
The music video was released from the official YouTube channel of Mahat on December 30, 2022. Until Saturday afternoon, the music video had received over
591,000 views.
The comments on YouTube regarding the song show that people loved it.
Last year, Mahat had released a song under the title “Bandipuraima”, which received a good response.
“It was the love shown by Nepalis in the previous song “Bandipuraima” that I brought another song as “Bandipuraima-2”. I have expected similar response for the second one,”
said Mahat.
The song has been sung by Mahat and songstress Shanti Shree Pariyar. The lyrics/music is also by Mahat while it has been arranged by B.B. Anuragee. Mahat is also the main character in the music video and has been supported by model Rina Thapa.
The music video has been directed by Narayan Rayamajhi, and Mankrishna Maharjan and Ramji Lamichhane have worked as the cinematographer and choreographer respectively.
The music video shows beautiful scenery of Tindhara and Bandipur area in Tanahun. “It seems that the music video will help promote tourism sites in Tanahun,” said Bidhya Shrestha, former chairman of Bandipur Community Development Committee.
Mahat has been living in the USA for the past two decades; however, when he arrives in Nepal, he has something for his Nepali fans. Mahat is renowned for his songs like “Simsime Pani”, “Panko Paat”, “Banjho Khetma” and “Hiuchulima Hiu, Lam Maya Chhapakkai”, among others. Mahat is also the Consul General for Pennsylvania and Maryland states in the USA on behalf of Nepal government.
