SATV, Kathmandu, May.1: President  has extended best wishes for happiness, peace and prosperity to all Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasions of the 2570th Buddha Jayanti, Ubhauli festival, and International Workers’ Day.

In a message on Buddha Jayanti, President Paudel stated that Buddha’s teachings have played a significant role in promoting peace, tolerance and harmony across the world. Emphasising that Nepal, being the birthplace of Buddha, is a matter of pride, he underscored the importance of internalising Buddha’s teachings to further strengthen national unity.

Similarly, on the occasion of the Ubhauli festival, the President extended best wishes to the Kirat community, including Rai, Limbu, Yakkha, and Sunuwar groups. 

The message states that the cultural and agricultural significance of the festival marks the seasonal transition and the beginning of plantation activities.
