SATV Kathmandu, July 30: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rebounded strongly on Tuesday, gaining 30.76 points (1.03%) to close at 3,002.07 points, crossing the 3,000-point threshold by the end of the trading session.
Alongside the rise in the benchmark index, the Sensitive Index, which tracks the performance of Class 'A' companies, increased by 0.61%, while the Float Index, representing actively traded stocks, climbed 0.96%.
The day's total turnover reached Rs 18.52 billion, with 41,808,966 shares of 321 companies traded across 157,525 transactions.
Sector-Wise Performance
Market sentiment was largely positive, with only three sectors – Development Banks (-0.36%), Trading (-0.25%), and Finance (-0.12%) – recording losses.
The 'Others' sector led the gainers with a 2.58% increase, followed by Microfinance: +1.69%, Banking: +1.32%, and Non-Life Insurance: +1.12%.
Out of the traded stocks, 176 closed higher, 74 declined, and 3 stocks – Sanvi Energy Limited (SANVI), Trade Tower Limited (TTL), and Muktinath Krishi Company Limited (MKCL) – hit the 10% upper circuit limit.
With this upward movement, the total market capitalization reached Rs 5.009 trillion by the close of trading.
