SATV 21 April, Kathmandu: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has set new foreign exchange rates for today, with the buying rate of one US dollar fixed at Rs 136.30 and the selling rate at Rs 136.90.
According to the central bank, one euro can be bought at Rs 155.28 and sold at Rs 155.96, while one UK pound sterling can be bought at Rs 181.23 and sold at Rs 182.03. Similarly, the buying rate for one swiss franc stands at Rs 166.98 and the selling rate at Rs 167.72. The rates for one Australian dollar are Rs 86.91 for buying and Rs 87.29 for selling, whereas the Canadian dollar is being exchanged at Rs 98.42 and Rs 98.86 for buying and selling respectively. The Singapore dollar's buying rate is Rs 103.95 and the selling rate is Rs 104.41.
The bank has fixed the buying and selling rates for ten Japanese yen at Rs 9.59 and Rs 9.63 respectively, and one Chinese yuan at Rs 18.67 and Rs 18.75. Similarly, the Saudi Arabian riyal stands at Rs 36.33 for buying) and Rs 36.49 for selling, while the Qatari riyal is at Rs 37.39 and Rs 37.56. One Thai baht is being exchanged at Rs 4.08 for buying and Rs 4.10 for selling. The UAE dirham's rates are Rs 37.11 and Rs 37.28 for buying and selling respectively, and the Malaysian ringgit is trading at Rs 30.88 and Rs 31.02.
The exchange rate for 100 South Korean won has been set at Rs 9.57 for buying and Rs 9.62 for selling. The Swedish kroner is being exchanged at Rs 14.15 and Rs 14.21 respectively, while the Danish kroner is fixed at Rs 20.80 and Rs 20.89.
Among other currencies, the Hong Kong dollar is being bought at Rs 17.56 and sold at Rs 17.64. The Kuwaiti dinar has been valued at Rs 444.54 (buying) and Rs 446.50 (selling), the Bahraini dinar at Rs 361.54 and Rs 363.13, and the Omani riyal at Rs 354.49 and Rs 356.05 respectively.
The exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees remains at Rs 160.00 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.
The central bank has also clarified that these rates are subject to revision as needed, and may vary from rates offered by commercial banks, which determine their rates based on open market conditions. Updated rates are available on NRB's official website.
