KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 16

The French Ambassador to Nepal, Virginie Corteval, visited the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) Secretariat today and discussed potential future collaboration with NMA officials.

Ambassador Corteval was welcomed at the NMA Secretariat in Nagpokhari, Naxal, by NMA President Nima Nuru Sherpa, Chief Advisor Ang Tshering Sherpa, Senior Vice President Thakur Raj Pandey, and Secretary Dhan Bahadur Gurung, who greeted her with traditional khadas.

During the meeting, Sherpa briefed the ambassador on the NMA's efforts to promote Nepal's mountain tourism, with a focus on garbage management in the mountains and the promotion of mountain culture.

Ambassador Corteval expressed interest in collaborating with the NMA on various promotional and cleaning initiatives. Both sides agreed to hold further meetings to identify specific areas for cooperation.

The meeting also included NMA's Chief Administrative Officer Jinesh Sindurakar and Communication Officer Dipendra Gurung.
