SATV Kathmandu 01 October: The 3rd China-Nepal Media Summit and the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China have been completed in 26th September in Kathmandu. In the program co-organized by SATV and Nepal -China Media Forum, Honorable Prithvi Subba Gurung, Minister of Information and Communication of the Government of Nepal, H.E. Chen Song, Ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, Dev Gurung, Secretary General of CPN Maoist Center, Chu Ching Chun, President of the Chinese Entrepreneurs Association in Nepal, attended the event. Vice President of Nepal Tourism Board Ram Prasad Sapkota and others were also present.
The program started with a video demonstrating the analysis of the post-establishment work of SATV. Kishore Shrestha, the president of Nepal China Media Forum, presented a speech. He said that the relationship between Nepal and China has always been beautiful and now Nepali and Chinese media should take initiatives to strengthen this ancient relationship.
His Excellency Chen Song, the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, gave his speech and expressed his happiness for participating in the 3rd China Media Summit. He said that he was not able to participate in the previous two editions but is very happy to be able to participate in this edition.
Talking about the good relations between Nepal and China, he said that China always wants the prosperity of Nepal and Nepali people. As his country is celebrating its 75th founding day, he said that Nepal and Nepalese can learn from the struggles and stories of his country from being a poor country to a rich country. In order to support the economy of Nepal, it was informed that some of the goods produced from Nepal are made tax free recently. He again stated that even though Peoples' Republic of China has made many social and economic investments, the investment in Nepal has not been enough and he emphasized that more efforts should be made on this topic. The media should act as the bridge to connect the prosperity of China and help emerging Nepal into a developed country in Near future.
He further mentioned that Nepal should be able to get more benefits from China by coordinating in a proper way. Conferences, Research Programs and debates are to be held in a regular interval and for that, the media should do it, He told.
He thanked the organizers for today's program as it has been a torch for the more discussions ahead.
Speaking at the program, which was enhanced by various cultural performances, Prithvi Subba Gurung, the chief guest of the program, expressed his happiness that he was able to be the chief guest. He expressed his best wishes on the 75th foundation day of Peoples' Republic of China, remembering the long harmonious relationship between Nepal and China. Most of the time, the development of the journalism field and the positive changes that the field brings to the country and the neighborhood were explained. He said that the Chinese government is also providing important support to Nepal in infrastructure development and hopes for an increase in this support." The implementation of the BRI project on the rapid speed is our priority," He explained.
“Today, our relationship is further strengthened, based on the principles of equality, sovereignty, and mutual benefit. From collaboration in infrastructure and technology to cultural and educational exchanges, our relationship continues to grow across various sectors,” Minister Gurung said.
In the program, the students of Reliance School sang the song I Love You China and various Chinese poets also presented their poems fulfilled with the love for the motherland.
Lastly, The chairman of S.A.T.V. and organizer of the program Hou Zhi Hong thanked the guests for participating in the program at this wonderful time and added that S.T.A.V. will continue to organize these and similar programs in the future to improve relations between Nepal and China.
