Experienced doctor, Ali Niyaf has resigned from ADK Hospital after nine years of service. He was the hospital’s Senior Neurosurgeon at the time of his resignation.
The hospital confirmed Niyaf’s exit on X, on Monday.
The seasoned doctor is also the country’s first neurosurgeon as well, and had acquired education and training in countries including the United States, Russia, Brazil, and Nepal among others.
Niyaf has completed more than 2,000 successful neurosurgeries and procedures in his career.
A pioneer of various state of the art neurosurgical interventions and procedures, Niyaf is credited in bringing life research in this field to the Maldives via publications and the Brain & Spine conference series.
Abdulla Niyaf, ADK’s pediatrician and elder sibling of Niyaf said Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH)’s neurosurgeon services will get a boost with Niyaf’s appointment to the hospital.
However, neither the hospital nor the doctor have confirmed when the neurosurgeon will officially begin consultations at IGMH.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ali Niyaf will be consulting patients at the Maldives Neuro Endocrine Medical Facility from Monday onwards.
