One unit of Adani Group's power plant in Jharkhand, India, has become operational, with the unit starting production early on Monday.

It initially supplied 519MW of electricity from 10am, which increased to 702MW by 11am.

Previously, the power supply from this plant had been completely shut down on Friday.

The power plant provides approximately 1,500MW of electricity to Bangladesh. In recent days, the plant has been operating at partial capacity.

According to the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), the production of the first unit was halted during the Eid holidays for maintenance. The unit was scheduled to resume production on July 5 but started earlier than planned.

Notably, due to technical issues, the production of the second unit had been reduced since June 25. Engineers had been working to increase production, but the plant completely shut down at around 9:45am on Friday. However, the impact of the electricity shortage was minimal due to reduced demand thanks to cooler weather and rain.
