First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has inaugurated the ‘Dhon Bandaarain Handh’aanee Mauraz’, a special exhibition to commemorate Huravee Day in the Maldives.
The exhibit honors the first sultan in the Huraa dynasty, Sultan al-Ghazi al-Hassan Izzudddin, better known as Dhon Bandaarain, who freed the Maldives from South Indian invaders.

This exhibition includes relics belonging to Dhon Bandaarain, and some armor used in the past. Some of the artefacts belonging to Dhon Bandaarain include the turban he wore, the lance he used, and the coins he minted during his reign.
