Eight ambulances donated by the Japanese government have been handed over to health facilities.
The ambulances were handed over in a ceremony on Thursday morning, attended by the Health Minister Ahmed Naseem and Japanese Ambassador Takeuchi Midori.

The National Ambulance Services in Hulhumale’ received two ambulances, while the rest went to HA. Hoarafushi Health Center, HA. Kelaa Health Center, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, L. Gan Regional Hospital, Gn. Fuvahmulah Regional Hospital, and Addu Equatorial Hospital.

The ambulances are equipped with ALS bag, oxygen cylinder, bag valve mask, spinal board, and other medical equipment.
Speaking at the ceremony, Health Minister Ahmed Naseem thanked Japan for its continuous assistance to the Maldivian health sector, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The ambulances were donated under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
