They want to grab power through the force of arms as they do not have faith in general people, Obaidul Quader says

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has alleged that the BNP is bringing weapons into the country through Chapainawabganj border.
He said: "I am getting news from across the border that they (BNP) are buying weapons. Chapainawabganj is a base for their arms supply. They want to grab power through the force of arms as they do not have faith in people's power.”
Obaidul Quader made the statement in a meeting of the affiliated organizations of the party the central office of Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue on Tuesday.
He said: "When we plan to hold program on the occasion of the month of mourning, BNP as well as some media term it as counter program. How is it a counter program? We already said we will be present in the field level till the election.”
Awami League is not in favor of conflict, the general secretary said:
"Those who create conflict are weak. We want a conflict-free, peaceful, free and fair election. It is our promise to the nation,” he added.
Addressing the party activists, Quader said: "We don't have the opportunity to waste our time anymore. There is no room for idleness.”
