Mild heatwave sweeping across several districts
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rain or thundershowers in all eight divisions of the country in the next 24 hours.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely at one or two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places, the met office said in its Sunday morning bulletin.
A mild heatwave is sweeping across Dhaka, Madaripur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Moulvibazar, Comilla, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Cox's Bazar, Rangamati, Bandarban, Khulna, Jessore, Chuadanga, Barisal, Patuakhali and Bhola, and it may abate in some places.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged, said the bulletin.
The highest temperature was recorded at 38 degrees Celsius in Bandarban and Khulna on Saturday, while the lowest temperature was recorded at 20 degrees Celsius at three spots in the country on Sunday.
The weather office recorded the highest rainfall, 31mm, in Jessore.
