Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song has visited the ancient Tilaurakot of Kapilvastu. Tilaurakot is the palace of King Suddhodhana and the place where Buddha spent 29 years. After reaching the ancient Kapilvastu via Lumbini, he visited the Buddha place Tilaurakot.
Awadhesh Kumar Tripathi, Vice President of Lumbini Development Fund, informed Ambassador Song about the historical background, importance, historical evidence and other issues of the Buddhasthal. He inspected the site of the excavations completed in Tilaurakot by walking in Tilaurakot Durbar area. He took information about the achievements and conditions of excavation。
The ambassador visited Tilaurakot's main palace, Vamlai temple, western and eastern gates, and the completed excavation area.During the visit, he expressed his belief that the Tilaurakot Palace was preserved in a very beautiful manner and that Chinese pilgrims and visitors from all over the world will continue to visit this place to worship and pray for world peace and prosperity.
The Chinese government also expressed its commitment to work hand in hand with the Nepal government for the protection and development of the Tilaurakot area. Ambassador Song said that he will coordinate with UNESCO to get Tilaurakot listed in the World Heritage List as soon as possible.
