Today is Ram Navami festival. The Ram Navami festival, which falls on the Navami Tithi of Chaitra Shukla Paksha, is being celebrated with devotion today. According to the Hindu scripture Ramayana, this day is considered as the birthday of Lord Shri Ram Chandra.

Ram Navami festival is celebrated on Chaitra Shukla Navami,the birth of Lord Rama. Lord Rama was born on Chaitra Shukla Navami as the son of King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya Devi of Ayodhya during Treta Yuga.

As this festival falls in the middle of Chaitra Navratri, Lord Shri Ram is also worshiped on this day as well as Aadi Shakti Nava Durga devi.

On this day, Ram Navami festival is specially celebrated in this memory. Lord Ram and Mother Sita were married in Janakpurdham during the Treta Yuga. On the occasion of Ram Navami, the Madhes state government has also given a public holiday today.
