SATV KATHMANDU NOV 7: The third Pokhara International Cross-Country Race will be held in Pokhara under the slogan "Run for Common Prosperity." Preparations for the event, which is scheduled for Kartik 24, are currently underway.

The competition is being organized by the Pokhara Metropolitan City, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, the Nepal Tourism Board, and the Himalayan Tourism Forum. The guiding partners of the event include the Gandaki Provincial Government, the National Sports Council, the Provincial Sports Council-Gandaki, the District Sports Development Committee-Kaski, the Yunnan Provincial Sports Bureau of China, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Yunnan Provincial Government, the Kunming Foreign Affairs Office, the Kunming Sports Federation, and the Kunming People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

Additionally, the Himalayan Tourism Forum-Pokhara, the Yunnan Mountaineering and Outdoor Sports Association, and the Kunming Mountaineering and Adventure Association will lead the implementation of the competition, while the Fedikhola Rural Municipality, Pokhara Tourism Council, Pokhara Hotel Association, Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pokhara Youth Council, Nepal Youth Entrepreneurs Forum-Pokhara Chapter, Lions Club of Pokhara Centennial, Nepal-China Friendship Association, Pokhara Overseas Chinese Association, and Pokhara Former Players Association will co-lead the event.

The competition, with a total prize pool of NPR 1,983,100, will feature four categories: Team Relay Race, Challenge Individual Race, Student Race, and Happy Run. Around 1,200 participants, both from Nepal and abroad, are expected to take part in the event.

Buddha Air is the official airlines partner , Prime Azod Insurance is the official insurance partner, War Horse Vitamin Beverage is the official beverage partner, and Rebot Spring Mineral Water is the official water partner. Manipal Hospital will be the health partner for the competition. The event will begin at 7:30 AM on Kartik 24.

At a press conference today, the organizers released a press statement informing that a 134-member team of athletes and supporters from Kunming, China, is arriving in Pokhara. They emphasized that the event will contribute to tourism in Pokhara and Nepal, as well as strengthen the relationship between Nepal and China. Representatives from the Nepal Tourism Board and the Chinese Embassy in Nepal expressed their best wishes for the success of the event and commented on the positive impact it will have on Nepal's tourism industry.
