Colombo, July 25 - The government has decided to grant special leave to government employees who were unable to report for work last May and June due to floods, landslides and road blockages.

Government officials who failed to report to work due to the above reasons in the districts of Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha, Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Polonnaruwa, Kegalle and Ratnapura will be entitled to this leave.

The officers who were unable to report for duty due to disruption of public transport services from their place of residence to their place of work due to floods, landslides and road blockages, and officers who were unable to report for duty due to road blockages, wll be provided the leave facility.
