The family of a police officer who played a role in the Karachi operation and his family are facing threats to their lives from criminals.
Haider Ali Zaidi, who had played a vital role in the Karachi operation in the 1990s and had been attacked by terrorists multiple times, is once again facing death threats, and so is his family.
The former Bahadurabad SHO had been seriously wounded near the Safari Park in 2013. Following the frequent attacks, his brothers Syed Shahid Ali Zaidi and Sultan Ali Zaidi left the country.
“My mother recently received a threatening call by unknown culprits warning that they would kill her sons soon after they return to Pakistan,” explained the officer. Haider said that after frequent attacks on him and his brothers, his brothers had shifted abroad to save their lives, but now they want to return to the country, so criminals are again threatening to kill them if they come back.
Shahid, Haider’s younger brother, was injured in a knife attack by terrorists in 2018. Shahid Zaidi was again targeted the following year in a murderous attack by assailants. He was injured in the crossfire.
Their sisters have also been victims of murderous attacks by terrorists. Their elder brother Sultan has also been threatened by terrorists. Due to these threats, the two brothers were forced to leave the country. Their elderly mother, a cancer patient, has also been threatened by terrorists through repeated phone calls.
