Oscar International College (College of Film Study), which has been providing academic teaching of cinema for two decades, is going to hold the first ‘Youth Short Film Competition’.
Issuing a press statement on Monday, the college announced the first youth short film competition, targeting participants aged below 20 years.
Filmmakers in this age group are invited to submit their short films by August 7. According to the statement, the first film in the competition will be awarded Rs. 100,000.
Likewise, Rs.50,000 and Rs. 25,000 will be awarded to the second and third films respectively.
Filmmakers of the first, second and third films will also get a 50 per cent scholarship if they want to study at Oscar College.
Similarly, a successful filmmaker will be given a 50 per cent scholarship if he/she is admitted to the college, informed the college through a press statement. Principal of the college Ramraja Dahal said that the competition was being organised to identify emerging talents in film production and provide them with a special opportunity.
The statement also read that the youth short film competition organised by Oscar Film College for the first time this year will be continued in the coming years.
