The Office of the Indian President says Murmu congratulated Paudel on assuming his office during a telephone conversation.
President Ram Chandra Paudel and his Indian counterpart Droupadi Murmu held a telephone conversation on Friday.
According to a statement by the Office of the Indian President, Murmu congratulated Paudel on assuming his office.
“Both Presidents noted the unique and multifaceted relations between India and Nepal. They also discussed ways to further advance bilateral cooperation and strengthen the strong bonds of friendship between the peoples of our two countries,” reads the statement.
The Indian President expressed her confidence that India-Nepal bilateral relations would reach even greater heights under the guidance of Paudel.
Suresh Chandra Chalise, chief personal secretary to President Paudel, said the President extended an invitation for a Nepal visit to his Indian counterpart.
In an earlier congratulatory note on Monday, Murmu had said that she looks forward to working closely with Paudel in further strengthening the bilateral partnership.
“I am confident that under your able guidance, our wide-ranging cooperation will be strengthened further. I look forward to working closely with you in nurturing and further strengthening our bilateral partnership,” the Indian President had said.
