Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) chairman Janaka Rathnayake said yesterday (28) that even though he returned to the country, his office was not open for him.
Addressing the media, he said he was out of the country for several days on a personal visit.
Though they came to his office, the office was sealed and it was not removed, he said.
The Kollupitiya Police sealed the official office on February 16 upon a court order based on a complaint to prevent the loss or tampering of documents of the state value.
Rathnayaka arrived at the office at 12.30 pm as instructed by the police. At the time he came to the elevator, two scene of crime officers (SOCO) were seen going out from the building, saying they would return soon.
Rathnayake went to his office door, but it was sealed and seal was not removed, and two policemen were there to guard it.
He waited for some time for the policemen to come back, and called the Kollupitiya police. "The OIC of Kollupitiya police told that there are no officers to open the door," Rathnayake said.
