Wind and rain chasing the dawn of dawn
Interview with Wang Zhujun, director of Nepal Liming Furniture Factory, a Chinese-funded enterprise
South Asia Business News reporter Hou Zhihong
Thirty years ago, a reporter once read the book "The Biography of Hamer", a famous American industrialist. Hamer's amazing charm lies not only in his extraordinary diplomatic ability, but more importantly in his adventurous and enterprising spirit. The content of the book has basically been returned to the book over time, but the story of making the pencil is still a fragment of memory. One day Hammer walked into a stationery store in the former Soviet Union to buy a pencil, but the store only had German products, and the stock was limited. An accidental discovery, Dr. Hammer had the idea of opening a pencil factory, but he did not know how to produce pencils. Later, he introduced equipment and technical personnel from Germany to set up a pencil factory and achieved success...
Although the experience and contribution of Wang Zhujun, the subject of the reporter's interview, cannot be compared with that of Dr. Hamer, there are two points that are surprisingly similar. They are both in foreign countries, and they have done completely unfamiliar industries and have also achieved success.
Behind every successful entrepreneur is his mental journey, the unrepeatable life track and the key to unlocking the Da Vinci code, and Wang Zhujun is no exception.
The former glory became a spiritual fetter
Mr. Wang, who was born in Keqiao, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, was 50 years away this year. He met him during the global coronavirus epidemic and the complete lockdown of the city of Nepal in South Asia.
Mr. Wang is not tall, wears a mask on his face, a Chinese-style backpack, and casual attire. In addition to the mottled silver filaments left over his head over the years, he can see from him, apart from the boldness and fortitude of the soldiers and the quick talk and shrewdness of Zhejiang merchants. It is difficult to find the shadow of the owner of Nepal's largest furniture factory.
The interview with Mr. Wang was conducted in the reception hall on the first floor of Sihe International. It was not so much an interview as a dialogue, exchange, or spiritual collision with friends. It happened that Mr. Du Ke, a young talent who had met Mr. Wang when he came to Nepal from Beijing in his 20s, was also there. Together with Zhu Feng, Banma and reporters, the scene was extremely lively.
It is actually a difficult task for a boss to recall his development. It can also be said that it is a spiritual devastation. Whether the interview is successful or not, the emotion of the interviewed person is crucial.
At this time, there was a sudden heavy drifting rain outside the window. Nepal is rainy and harder and more affectionate. Under the background of the natural scene given by God, Mr. Wang finally opened his heart, which has been covered in dust for many years. Although many things have been long ago, he is still precious. ——
"Ten years ago, I was operating textiles in China Textile City in Keqiao, Shaoxing, Zhejiang. China Textile City was the world's largest textile distribution center with the most varieties. I focused on doing business in South Asian countries."
"We made a lot of money with our Zheshang's hard work and wisdom. At that time, in addition to selling textiles, my wife also ran a coffee brand shop and beauty salon, with assets of about 20 to 30 million yuan."
"At that time, there were too many people in Zhejiang who were richer than me. In particular, many rich people used the opportunity of one or two lives or opened mines or cooperation. After a period of time, their wealth may double or even several times."
"It was a temptation for me, who had completed the primitive accumulation. I also started to cooperate with my friends on prospecting projects. I remember that there was a record of monthly income of 700,000 or 800,000 in the most beautiful period. In order to negotiate a business, I was in Beijing and Guangzhou. , Shanghai enters high-end venues from time to time, and it costs one hundred and eighty thousand yuan to sing a few songs for a meal. Thousands of dollars often happen." Mr. Wang said in an interview.
The achievement of a man is on his face, and the joy of a woman is sometimes hidden in his heart. The soldiers of Wang Zhujun are outspoken, and both happiness and troubles are on his face.
I have interviewed many Zhejiang businessmen in my career as a reporter. My feeling for Zhejiang businessmen is that they can endure hardships, are wise, have a good team, and are aggressive. The weakness is that it can share the same difficulties as entrepreneurship, and cannot advance and retreat at the later stage. When the scenery is beautiful, friends are all over the world, and the sun is everywhere, and they get together every day; when they are down, they don’t have to deal with things, so that they can make a comeback.
Life is hard, everybody will have many intersections as they walk, and one wrong step will regret for life. But who can guarantee that they will always go the right way, and in many cases will involuntarily enter a dead end.
Many thunderstorms in the mountain country, the fragile heart is full of devastation
"...I came to Nepal to collect the payment for a batch of textiles. The payment for this batch was so large that it would be difficult to pay if I didn't receive it. However, this batch of payment made me wait in Nepal for three years and was helpless. "
"I always want to get the money and leave tomorrow, next week, or next month. However, the reality is so cruel. After three years have passed until the money is actually recovered, a lot of opportunities and time are spent waiting helplessly. At the beginning, I wanted to know that this payment was so difficult to ask for. I might not send this batch of goods, or maybe I didn’t need the money at all, but who could have predicted that it would become like this at the beginning?!
"There is an old saying that the house leaks and the rain has continued. During this period, another devastating event happened. I sent a car from Shaoxing a car worth 1.5 to 600 thousand textiles, but unfortunately there was a car on the road. The car crashed and the goods were cremated to ashes. What's more unfortunate is that the cost was reduced to save transportation costs. After the incident, I learned that the car was not insured, alas.
When interviewing these sad processes, the surrounding friends found that Mr. Wang was a little agitated, and reporters who had experienced many interviews noticed that Mr. Wang’s eye circles were a little wet.
Everyone has a fragile side in their hearts, it just depends on how much impact you encounter. In order to adjust emotions, reporters use the method of shifting goals and topics to avoid embarrassment. The target person for this change of topic is the aforementioned Mr. Du Ke who has been in Nepal for twelve years.
Reporter: Hello, Mr. Du Ke. I learned that you have been in Nepal for twelve years, and you have met President Wang and became good friends soon after you arrived. What do you think of President Wang?
Du Ke: Wang is always my predecessor in Nepal and a guide. He is one of my most respected people. I know very well the difficulty of Wang's entrepreneurship and his help to friends. I just came to Nepal in my early 20s, and I don’t know anything. Although I have been busy with my own affairs for the past 12 years, I will gather and spend more time, but if I encounter big decisions, I will always ask Mr. Wang and other seniors. Many detours, I am very grateful.
Reporter: What do you think is the greatest strength of Mr. Wang?
Du Ke: kind, wise, tolerant and strong!
Reporter: Are there shortcomings?
Du Ke: Ha ha, no one is perfect. The biggest shortcoming is that I trust people too much, and I can't get any money for sending millions of goods to Nepal for a few years. Of course, the shortcomings I judged are also the advantages of Mr. Wang. The Liming Furniture Factory he founded is to cooperate with Nepalese. The Chinese and Nepalese have cooperated for so long. Maybe Wang is always the only one.
Reporter: Thank you very much for Mr. Du Ke's support and cooperation.
The night walk in the mud almost fell into the abyss
The extension of life at the Liming Furniture Factory in Nepal is actually a very dramatic story. At the beginning of the story, the reporter wrote that Hammer Fushi had set up an unfamiliar pencil factory by chance and succeeded. And Mr. Wang has always been in the textile business. Why did he switch to a furniture factory in Nepal?
According to Mr. Wang, the man he is currently cooperating with to build a factory is a Nepalese who owes him a huge amount of money for textiles. There is a popular saying in China that it is the uncle who owes money and the grandson who asks for money. It may be more difficult to be a grandson in Nepal, where the mountains are high and far away, than in China. Of course, it's normal to owe money in the business field, and it's not that people deliberately refuse to pay, maybe he also has difficulties. Everyone knows that in addition to the normal profit points for a large number of large businesses, merchants are most concerned about whether to recover the payment in time. If the expected period is too long, don't talk about profits. It is lucky if the capital can be kept.
I can't believe how Wang always survived.
"One time my friend from Nepal and I were visiting a furniture market. Suddenly this friend pointed to the furniture in the mall and said that the furniture business in Nepal is very good and the market demand is also great. Can we build a furniture factory? By the way, you need money for everything. How can you do it if you don’t have money? This Ming friend said that we each took out a portion and we didn’t do it. I said that you paid for my goods and I would do it. This friend agreed. And I paid the money soon, so that I could prepare to build the factory later.” The reporter and the friends present could not help but burst into laughter as they listened to Mr. Wang.
"I said earlier that I was engaged in textiles. I was very unfamiliar with how to make furniture. I remember once making a dining table for a client. It took a carpenter a month to make it. The salary was more than 5,000, and the dining table was ordered. The price is more than three thousand. This is not lumber. The night I was handed over, I was almost disappointed to the extreme. What kind of money did I make! In that small house of 20 square meters that is difficult to breathe, I was lying in bed tossing and turning. At dawn, I found that I had smoked almost a pack and a half of cigarettes. When I was in the office, I saw a thick smoke from the small house, which was like a fire."
"From that day on, I decided to completely change this situation, adjust my thinking, study and study in the country, introduce technical talents and advanced production lines, and start mass production. During this period, I took over 10 million rupees in Lumbini Chinese Temple. Only after the completion of this order did the Liming Furniture Factory gain a foothold in Kathmandu, and slowly gained influence. It has basically recovered its investment four years after the establishment of the factory in 2009. You can imagine the efforts made during this period."
During this period, another major event happened, which made Mr. Wang unforgettable.
He went to work in China that year and heard that Nepalese seahorses were very popular in China. At that time, the idea was very simple. He took some back and sold them and earned all the expenses of returning home.
When flying to Chengdu for entry, it was found by the customs staff that the seahorse was a species in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, and was a restricted entry and exit item. The reporter found the Chengdu Commercial Daily’s full report on the incident through the Internet. The investigation result of the Chengdu Customs Anti-smuggling Bureau was suspected of tax evasion. There was no intention to commit a crime of smuggling and did not constitute a criminal case. This incident finally came to an end. The lesson is profound, like a night walk in the mud, almost falling into an abyss.
After 12 years of unremitting efforts in Nepal, Mr. Wang currently has 82 employees in Liming Furniture Factory, including 4 domestic professionals. The company has 3 production lines and a sponge factory.
In the past 12 years, Liming Furniture Factory has not only produced its own products, but also represented domestic well-known brands, such as Guangzhou Jiulong Yousheng Office Furniture, Zhongshan Huadu Office Furniture, and Jiani Mattress. Together with domestic enterprises, a comprehensive after-sales service has been established in Nepal. The company has won the trust and praise of many customers with its high-quality and honest service. With the purpose of honest service, the company has gradually established a good reputation in the Kathmandu furniture market. In recent years, the performance of Liming Furniture Factory has been soaring. The annual output value is about 3 million US dollars, and the domestic brand sales are about 1 million US dollars.
Behind it is not only love and eternal warmth
A person’s life will never be smooth sailing. It’s not surprising that everyone will encounter sunny and smooth days, as well as storms or cold and humid days. The same is true in the business field, mainly depends on whether you have the stamina and can carry it! With the reform and opening up for more than 40 years, the reporter started from the “ten thousand households” on the land of China at that time, and went forward to succession, and I did not know how many commercial geniuses, Tear Wine Shopping Mall, and finally reached Feng Maolinjiao where he could achieve success.
Similarly, everyone is looking for and chasing the dawn of dawn, but the wind and rain see the rainbow and have perseverance.
Wang Zhujun and the chariot are also lucky. No matter how big his career is, it is the greatest success to survive in this era.
In order to make a comeback in order to make a living in order to make a living when the capital chain broke, his career was completely passive. He also asked many friends in the business circle, but only one person really helped him. This person helped him when the furniture factory was most difficult. Million.
Once he borrowed 100,000 yuan from his sister to make him cry. He said that there are many people who are grateful in this life. He is very grateful to his wife. When he can’t make ends meet, his wife should not only take care of the family, but also let him A child eats and goes to school, but also takes care of the elderly. Once the whole family had only 300 yuan in cash, his wife left the money with him. When the factory entered the formal market, the wife sold all the industries and brought her daughter to Nepal to personally train and lead the marketing team. , To develop the market from Kathmandu to the border cities of India, so that furniture factories have stable sales channels. He said his wife was the strongest backing in his life.
He is also very grateful to the people who lent him money when he was in the most difficult time. The money allowed his on the verge of bankruptcy to survive and the furniture factory is today. This person becomes his lifelong best friend, if he is in trouble, he will help.
He was also grateful that he not only didn't help him when he was in trouble, but also hurt some of his friends coldly, because these friends gave him the motivation to work hard, let him persevere and realize his dream.
The pain points of a community with a shared future for mankind have to wait for the wind to come
In the six months since the reporter arrived in Nepal, it was at the moment of the global epidemic of the coronavirus, and the country has been shut down for more than 60 days. In the face of global disasters, I really saw the great spirit and integrity of the Chinese nation, and this nation gathered in the face of the disaster. Piles, unprecedented unity.
The entrepreneurs I met in Nepal are all very good. They each have their own enterprises, businesses and channels, such as Mr. Wang’s Liming Furniture, Mr. Zhang of Moussa International Logistics, Mr. Wu who produces electric motorcycles, and Mr. Zhang of Qinghai. The general manager, Mr. Cai from Haixing Logistics, etc., and some entrepreneurs and businessmen that the reporter hasn't met, he and them are all good.
Perhaps these entrepreneurs and businessmen do not understand any national strategy and will not lip service to their patriotism. They do not have a government background and the superior conditions and beautiful titles of state-funded enterprises. They cannot enjoy the government's policy of a penny. Subsidies, but they use obscure actions, commercial channels and rules to promote all kinds of products made in China to the world. Eighty percent of people in Nepal have eaten Chinese apples, and they all praised it as "Chinese sweet"! The reporter believes that it is definitely not which government agency that sent Chinese Apples to Nepal for the first time? !
There are many people in Nepal who can speak Chinese, because there are more than 300 Chinese teachers in Nepal who are teaching Chinese to Nepalese and spreading Chinese language and culture to the hearts of Nepalese people. He and them use Weibo to teach Chinese to support their families. Get a cent of government subsidies, but spread Chinese culture to the world. Isn't this not patriotic, in a true sense to implement the initiative of the Belt and Road Community of Human Destiny? ! How can people communicate? How do languages fail to communicate?
The reporter learned that China has a non-governmental international organization in more than 40 countries around the world to promote the Belt and Road Initiative with non-governmental forces in the past seven years. Numerous international organizations recognize this organization, but they do not recognize it in their own country and cannot receive a penny of support. The reporter didn't understand why our country has such a group of outstanding entrepreneurs and non-governmental organizations working for the country to win glory, why can't we get the country's recognition and support.
The reporter wrote here, I remembered a Chinese film "Waiting for the Wind", which mainly reflected that paragliders on Pokhara Mountain in Nepal must wait for the wind before taking off, so that the paraglider can take off and bring happiness to tourists.
This film is a household name in Nepal.
And Ji believes that these companies and non-governmental organizations in Nepal are like paragliders. I hope that the wind will come soon, so that these companies and organizations can bathe in the sunshine and wind of the motherland, fly freely under the blue sky of the world, and promote China. National prestige, show Chinese power!
