S.A.T.V., Kathmandu, Baisakh 10: Today on Baisakh Shukla Poornima, 2568th Buddha Jayanti is being celebrated with various programs. On the birth anniversary of Siddhartha Gautam, who is known  as the pioneer of peace all over the world, there has been a tradition of celebrating Buddha, who was born as the ninth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, by worshiping, adoring and preaching.

This festival is celebrated as a reminder of Siddhartha Gautama's contribution to world peace. Gautama Buddha's birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana also happened on the full moon day of Baisakh. So, Buddhists consider this day as an important day as Trisanyoga Day.
