Sep 19, 2023: Rishi Panchmi, a festival celebrated out of respect to greatest of historical religious teacher is being celebrated around hindu community today. This year this festival has fallen on September 19.

Rishi Panchami is a traditional worship of seven sages (Sapta Rishi)  Kashyapa, Atri, Bharadwaja, Vishvamitra, Gautama Maharishi, Jamadagni and Vashishtha. It falls in the next day after Ganesh Chaturthi day in Bhadrapad month of the Lunar calendar.

People fast to show respect, gratitude and remembrance of the respective seven sages contribution in religion of hindus and welfare of society. On this day, people generally take a bath in rivers, purify themselves, pray and fast according to choices.
